Besides the default search in the ‘Term’ field, you can also search in other fields. This is possible only when you select a single source language. Click on the ‘Open expanded search‘ button to select the field(s) in which you wish to run your search.
You can search in the following fields (individually or combined):
- descriptive fields: ‘Term in context’, ‘Term note’, ‘Definition’ (*), ‘Language level note’
- reference fields (*): ‘Term reference’, ‘Context reference’, ‘Definition reference’
For example, you can search for ‘human rights’ in the ‘Context’, ‘Definition’ and ‘Term Note’ fields, to see how this term is used in context.
Or you can search for a partial URL to retrieve all entries with a URL containing that partial string in a reference field (*).
Fields containing a match are expanded by default in the results list, and the match is highlighted in blue. In the case of URLs, visible URLs containing a match are highlighted in blue, while hypertext containing a URL matching the search string is highlighted in orange.
The only matching option available when searching in other fields is ‘Partial string’.
