Table view (*)

The table view ☍, which is only accessible to internal users, offers an overview of selected entries to facilitate their management (e.g. validation monitoring, pre-IATE follow-up, missing languages, protection monitoring).

In this page, you will find out how to:

  • Add entries to your table view
  • Choose which information to display
  • Apply generic actions to your whole table
  • Apply actions to selected entries

Read more on User groups and access rights.

Add entries to your table view

Click on the ‘Actions’ button to add entries to your table view:

  • Add entries by ID: provide one or more IATE entry IDs, separated by commas or line breaks;
  • Add entries from collection: select the collection(s) you wish to view in your table;
  • Add entries from bookmarks: select a bookmark list;
  • Add entries from file: upload a file containing a list of IDs.
You can also add entries to your table view from various IATE screens: full entry view, results page, bookmark lists, watch lists, validation monitoring screen, marks monitoring screen, import results (under ‘Asynchronous requests’), batch attachment linking/unlinking, batch collection linking/unlinking, merge, TPM project entries, and term extraction module.
Customise your table

The selected entries are loaded in the table with a range of criteria or metadata displayed in columns. To configure your table view, click on the ‘Actions’ button then the ‘Choose and sort columns’ icon. On the left, there is a list of all the available columns. To display a column in your table, drag and drop it into the right-hand box.

To view the table in full-screen mode, click on ‘Actions’ then on the ‘Expand’ button.
You can rearrange the order of the entries in the table by dragging the ‘Sort’ icon and dropping it on the ‘Sort’ icon of the row where you want to place it.

Apply generic actions to all entries
  • Save IDs to file: saves a list of IDs from the table to a file. This file can be uploaded in the table view or in other parts of IATE.
  • Export table: launches a synchronous (i.e. immediate) export into Excel of the table as it is displayed (keeping all customisations).
  • Print: opens a glossary view of the IATE entries with limited metadata in a separate screen, to generate a paper or PDF version of the selected content. You have the option to include or exclude synonyms and to show or hide the IATE IDs, the hyperlinks to the entries and an index of terms in the selected languages. For an optimal print, you should select ‘Save as PDF’ and not ‘Adobe PDF’.
  • Sort: allows you to sort the content or reverse the current sorting. Keep in mind that you can also sort by columns not visible to the user in the table. Available sorting: entry ID (sorted by number); term, terms (de), terms (en), terms (fr) (sorted alphabetically); domains, collections, languages (sorted by number of languages, highest on top).
  • Empty table: removes all rows from the table.
The entries displayed in the table view are saved in your browser’s temporary local storage. This means that it will no longer be available when you change browser or computer, or when new versions of IATE are deployed.
However, you can save your list to a file and retrieve it by clicking on ‘Add entries from file’. We suggest that you save your table view lists regularly.
