Full entry view

The full entry view offers a full display of an IATE entry, with information organised in a concept-oriented approach: first the details applicable to the whole entry, followed by the language and the term levels.

In this page, you will find information on:

  • How to access the full entry view
  • Language coverage
  • List view versus side-by-side view
  • Expand and collapse information
  • Back to search results
  • Permanent link to full entry view
  • Feedback on the entry
ACCESS THE FULL ENTRY VIEW

From the results page, you can access the full entry view by:

  • clicking on the entry ID (at the top left of the entry in standard view, or in the ‘Additional information’ column in interpreters’ view)
  • clicking on one of the language codes in the entry (in standard view).
If you click on the entry ID, the full entry view will display the source and target language(s) selected for the search (bilingual, trilingual or multilingual display).
If you click on the language code, the full entry view will display the language selected in a monolingual display.
LANGUAGE COVERAGE

A language bar below the language-independent level gives a quick overview of the languages available on the entry. The colour coding is as follows:

  • dark blue for existing languages
  • light blue for displayed languages
  • grey for languages not available

You can display a language by clicking on the corresponding code in the language bar.

You can hide a language via the contextual menu: right-click on the language code (either in the language bar or at the top of the language level) and select ‘Close’.
LIST VIEW versus SIDE-BY-SIDE VIEW

Two display options are available: a side-by-side view of two or three languages; and a list view showing one language below the other, which is available for any number of languages. You can switch between the views by using the ‘Side-by-side view’ and ‘List view’ buttons at the top right of the screen.

In side-by-side view, you can display up to three languages next to each other. If you ask for a fourth language to be displayed, it will replace the language on the right.

To switch the positions of the languages displayed, hover your mouse over the top part (containing the language code) of the language you wish to move, click on the sort icon that appears, then drag it and drop it on top of the sort icon of the language you wish to swap it with.
EXPAND AND COLLAPSE INFORMATION

You can minimise the language-independent level, language levels or term levels individually by clicking on the collapse button, and open them again by clicking on the expand button. An option to collapse or expand all levels at once is also available at the top right of the entry.

This is particularly useful in side-by-side view, as it enables you to compare specific terms in different languages.

You can also print the entry by clicking on ‘Print’ at the top right of the entry.
BACK TO SEARCH RESULTS

You can return to the results page by clicking on ‘Back to search results’ in the results navigation panel on the right.

This panel provides a list of the entries retrieved in the results page to give you a quick overview and allow you to navigate between them. The entry ID is clickable and will take you to that full entry. The first term in the source language of your query is displayed next to the entry ID.

You can close and re-open the panel at any time while in the full entry view.

PERMANENT LINK TO FULL ENTRY VIEW

At the bottom left of the full entry view, you can find the permalink to that specific entry, in the following format: https://iate.europa.eu/entry/result/ENTRY ID

When you hover your mouse over it, various options are displayed:

  • Click to copy: copies the URL to your clipboard
  • Forward by email: opens your email client and creates a message which includes the IATE entry ID as subject and the permanent link to the specific full entry in the body of the message

A second permanent link is also displayed when you hover your mouse, with the entry’s current language display and the same options described above.

FEEDBACK ON THE ENTRY

If you would like to send feedback on an entry to the data owner, you can use the feedback form linked to at the top left or bottom right of the entry. Read more about the feedback mechanism (*).
