IATE is publicly accessible, so you can run searches without creating an account or logging on. However, to fully benefit from all the options IATE offers, users (both internal and external) need to log on. Among other things, this will allow you to set user preferences and save your favourite entries using bookmarks.
To log on, you need to create an account first. Click on ‘Log on’ at the top right of the screen, and then on ‘Create NEW account using EU Login’.
Internal users If you work for an EU institution or body in any capacity, you already have an EU Login account, which you can use to log on to IATE and access the content and functions reserved for internal users. You will automatically be assigned a ‘Basic user‘ role the first time you log on to IATE. Contact the central terminology service in your institution if you think that your role should be upgraded. |
External users On the EU Login website, click on ‘Create an account’ and follow the instructions. You will be assigned a ‘Guest user‘ role. |
Once you have a user account, click on ‘Log on’ to connect to IATE, and then select ‘Log on with EU Login’.
