In addition to the definition field, there are several other fields at the language level (LL) available for editors to use when necessary.
In this page, you will find out more about the following fields:
- Note
- Note reference
- Related material
- Management
- Collections
- Attachments
- Attachment reference
- Pre-IATE
- Confidentiality
- Protection
- Owner
NOTE
Use the LL note for any relevant information that relates to the concept (e.g. an explanation that cannot be part of the definition), rather than to a specific term. It can also be used for confidential information by selecting the relevant confidentiality option.
NOTE REFERENCE
Indicate the source(s) of this information in the ‘Note reference’ field. Each note has its own reference, which is optional (you can leave it empty).
Use the Add link icon to ensure links work properly and are created correctly. Look up and insert EUR-Lex references via the EUR-Lex reference module (by clicking on the ‘EUR-Lex search’ icon).
For more details on referencing, see References.
RELATED MATERIAL
You can use this field to add examples of documents where the term appears, in addition to any references provided elsewhere in the entry. This is especially useful when you create a new entry, because you can indicate the source text where the term was found in the anchor language. This information assists the anchor language team in validating the entry and helps other languages in adding their corresponding terms. This field is not public.
MANAGEMENT
The ‘Management‘ field at the LL is for central terminology services or language terminologists to record management-related information about a specific language. This field is not public.
Any new line in this field should begin with the name of the institution adding it. Example: [COM], [EP], [Consilium], etc. |
COLLECTIONS
Collections at LL can be used to create language-specific subsets of entries. For more details, see Collections.
This field is not public.
ATTACHMENTS
You can attach documents or graphics to an LL to provide additional information or illustrate something. All attachments must be copyright-free. For more details, see Attachments.
ATTACHMENT REFERENCE
It is obligatory to insert a proper reference to the attached file indicating the source of the attachment.
PRE-IATE
‘Pre-IATE’ is a validation status assigned to content that does not meet the quality criteria required for good IATE entries. For more details, see Validation status.
CONFIDENTIALITY
The entire LL can be set as confidential. For more details, see Confidentiality.
PROTECTION
This field is used to prevent other institutions and users from modifying the LL. For more details, see Protection.
OWNER
This field is used to designate the institution/body responsible for keeping this LL up-to-date.
Ownership is automatically assigned to the institution/body that created the TL but can be changed if necessary.
Any new line in this field should begin with the name of the institution adding it.
